Make sure to use a driver cleaning program like CCleaner before and after the install.
You could also try moving the card to a different PCI slot if you have one available.
I installed some extra RAM and my SSD. Installed Win7 a couple days ago and it was working alright. It started this today, I checked my connections, tried updating drivers and had no luck. So I reinstalled Win7 today, have checked connections again, tried installing drivers, and still no luck. Maybe tomorrow I will try a different PCI slot, although I don't know why that'd be a problem. This is an older model sound card and I'm wondering if it's just a matter of finding the right drivers for it. The new ones don't seem to be working 100%.
EDIT: Sounds also seem to freeze up after a few seconds and just stop.Edited by WBaS - 10/17/11 at 5:10pm
