As a huge Fallout 3/New Vegas fan, will I like Skyrim?

Thread Starter
Title says it all. With 400+ hours invested in Fallout 3 & New Vegas, will Skyrim be something that I will enjoy as much?

BTW, if you're one of the prepubescent irrational Skyrim haters here, don't waste my time or yours. Thanks. biggrin.gif

I would say more than likely you would enjoy it if you have that much time in Fallout;NV and 3.

From a lore perspective no. Because to put it simply, The Elder Scrolls lore and Fallout lore are completely seperate from one another.

So, you will only like Skyrim if you liked Morrowind, Oblivion, Daggerfall, or Arena.

This does have effect. I enjoyed both but liked Elder Scroll far better than Fallout.

If you have a remote interest in any games like warcraft or witcher and love fallout, there's no reason why you won't like Skyrim. The biggest pro is the modding community. There's no con IMO. I think there'll be the annoying kid/man char in Skyrim and you'll have fun bashing him. There are many similarities between Fallout and Elder Scroll series and there are many differences.

Long story short: Definite buy. Heck, there might be weapon mods which might introduce cool crossbows and then you can have the FPS feel in the game.

I like Daggerfall and Morrowind, but am indifferent to Arena, and not particularly fond of Oblivion.

I also liked Fallout 3, but don't like New Vegas.

Personally, my expectations for Skyrim are exceedingly low, and get lower every time I see more of the game.

I do like some aspects of what's been shown, but similar total map/world size, and a blatantly obvious, overly cliche, and completely uninspired main story, are big turn offs. Also, disconcerting is the over simplification and over streamlining of the skills and abilities that has been a major negative trend since Morrowind.

Yes you will like it, Skyrim is a Fallout coated Elder Scrolls game.

How lore got into this conversation seeing as how they're in two separate universes is beyond me. The gameplay is the same. Long, main-story arc supplemented by hundreds of smaller arcs, quests, and sidenotes. You level up your character on a few stats and are constantly on the move between places in a wide open area. If that interests you, then Skyrim will keep you interested.
