PSU not powerful enough..??

Hey all, I got my parts today..yay!
Bad news is; after I put it all together and tried to boot for the first time the MOBO speaker started screaming, along with no monitor view... According to the manual my motherboard was claiming my GPU wasn't installed correctly. I tried reinstalling the GPU, made sure all the correct plugs were correctly plugged. etc. MOBO speaker still yelled. So I resorted back to the chipset on the motherboard, same problem. Specs on the computer: Gigabyte 880RMA, AMD phenom IIx4 955, 4gbs G.skill ram @1600mhz, Tt 450W psu (low quality PSU and case combo I got for $25 from a friend,) Radeon HD 5770 (pimped by Sapphire.) A 320g HDD, and a 1.5TB HDD, and your stock DVD drive. The motherboard requires the 8-pin connecter for the graphics and according to the PSU, the MAX output watts is 110~ my guess is that I am overdrawing the watts out of my PSU I just wanted to check on here before I start tearing my 700 watt PSU out of another computer to check on it.

Should be fine, you are probably only drawing 300 watts or so....motherboards do usually make sounds like that when the graphics card isn't connected to the psu

I made sure I plugged the GPU into the PSU, even tried different connectors... still came up blank... and if you didnt read further down I tried running the computer off the onboard Chipset and I still got the failure reading
