The person has a bot net or similar and basically uploads packets to your ip and flooding the bandwidth so you lose your connection. It was probably random b/c the person just got a list of all the IPs of the people in the game you were in. He/she just picked yours to lag out.

As for what you can do, i am not sure, i forgot that part when i switched to my current ISP and my rounter has packet flood control.
thats stupid! I uploaded a pic!

Yep, he definitely was trying to lag you out. I used to do that with my friends on Xbox all the time lol. We used shell booters.

Well, i wouldn't be too sure on that. I would run a virus scan and such just to be sure. But if your internet is still laggy then I would definitely reset the router and refresh the IP.

I just reset the router and I am doing a virus scan so sad. It was weird I had a ping of 560 but BC2 did not look laggy.

Do you have a Netgear router? I don't think you are getting DoS'ed. I think that is normal traffic that it thinks is a Dos attack.

and Storm isn't a worm I've heard of...I think there has been some nicknamed Storm, but nothing named that.

It usually takes a while depending on the connections. Once it took my friend 5 minutes to lag out one guy.

Shoot it could be like the guy above said too, just normal traffic and the server was being overloaded. lol

I'd check for a new firmware upgrade. This is really common in Netgear routers. DoS Attack: Storm every 20 seconds. No idea where the storm comes from. The Storm botnet was effictively shut down like...five years ago.

it always ends up being normal, harmless traffic.

Oh...and a torrent will almost always set it off on one of these routers. Ussually it doesn't do anything other then make a entry in the log though and you won't notice any performance hit
