He complains about lack of strategy and then praises the higher damage rate in the full game.
Eh... I thought it took way too many shots in the beta to kill a player and sometimes you could hit someone in the head twice with a sniper rifle. I'm not sure how I feel about it taking even more damage per kill. Maybe it's because I play HC mode on BC2 but that's the first ticker I'm checking in the server browser in BF3.

if the beta deterred people away from the game, its probably the people you wouldnt want to play with anyways

I think this is a good change. I would die a lot in Beta from like 1-2 newb spray bullets all of the time. I am sorry 1-2 9mm bullets from some lame UMP or something shouldn't kill you instantly.

I doubt the damage model is different, it's likely just that running damage bug being fixed.

Still on the fence about this one. I really want it to be good, but BC2, the PC version of BF1943, BF2142, and the lack of BC on the PC have set off some serious alarms regarding DICE.

I think it's an UMP 45 though... .45 caliber bullet has some stopping power to it.

This is true. Fortuantly almost no games follow a realistic damage model. Because seriously who wants to be one shotted/permanantly disabled by any bullet.

I wasn't responding to the realism of the game. Simply that the UMP is .45 caliber and not 9mm. Still takes a few shots from the UMP to take someone down as with any gun on the game. Except for the seemingly random one hit kills snipers and M249s would do.

I loved the damage model in the Beta. Much more so than the model in BC2, I feel as if it took too many bullets to kill, even at close range. Too unrealistic/frustrating for me personally.

i think it was more or less the hit detection that was solved seems like it increased health but in reality is hasn't changed much if at all because in the beta some times i would shoot someone with my m4 1-2 times and they would drop probably the moving dmg bug which most likely the case since it almost always happened when they were moving or it could take up to 10 shots to kill them all at medium range.
