Problems with Athlon II x3 Core unlocking - Page 3

I set it back to the 3 core when I tried setting the voltage to 1.2v. It bluescreened twice before I set it back to auto. But thank you.

I think I'll try my luck...with a quad out of the box lol. Thanks guys.

Lol up your voltage a bit like 1.2xx or 1.3 and try it once it will keep the volts in check.

When AUTO voltage is ON it takes more than required. The thing is to find the volts for your CPU (3 cores) , my guess it should be between 1.2-1.4.

Use CPU-z and check the volts when it is on AUTO , it may show you 1.52 , so what you do is go back to the BIOS make voltage to 1.5 and keep going down, now you know that @1.2v it crashes so you will know your voltage has to be between 1.2 and 1.5.

I've heard Phenom triple cores have a better success rate, but ymmv. I guess I got lucky with mine. Good luck with whatever you go with

I upped my voltage to 1.35v It's stable now. Still no 4th core. Going to try upping the voltage to 1.5 to see what happens.

You mean, your going to work your way up to 1.5v right? Not just jump straight from 1.35v to 1.5v.

I have my 4th core working at I believe 1.40v but i'd have to double check.

I played it risky and jumped right to 1.5v Still stable, but no fourth core :c I take it my core is faulty. Oh well. Maybe I can OC this puppy a little to make me feel a little better. Unless there's something else I could possibly do to get that fourth core unlocked.

Though come to think of it, still doesn't explain why all my sensors think I have a Phenom II x4 B50 proc....

So You're sure you did the Hybrid/Unleashed thing? Might just be a bad core, mine wouldnt boot if I unlocked it.

Well... I now officially hate this CPU. I tried a simple OC from 3.2 stock to 3.3 doing both multipliers. Barely moved both multipliers. Refused to OC. I can underclock this CPU, but not OC it. I think in a few days I might go over to Best Buy and buy a new Proc. I hate Best Buy but there aren't any other computer stores anywhere near me and I can't have things shipped to my house. *Sigh*

I just wanted to say that when I was doin mine, Athlon II x3 2.8ghz, there is a setting that I had to change in the bios (award) from normal to hybrid right above the control settings, anything else and it wouldn't do now it hits at 3.2ghz Phenom II x4 voltage set at 1.375v and running smooth at 62 degrees Fahrenheit
