I think the 2500K in one of ASUS's P8P67 boards (not the P8P67 LE) would be an excellent choice. As for the memory, 1.5V is optimal, 1.65V is the limit.

Ouch. That doesn't leave much spending room for the motherboard at all. I mean getting the 2500K would allow the purchase of a very good motherboard, but getting the 2600K with a max budget of $450 doesn't - especially if you buy new memory too.

I am thinking about making the same move but have been pondering now the Bulldozer has come out and its benchmarks released, 8Core BD or i7 2600K for heavy Photoshop, video editing, and encoding.

So far I'm leaning towards the 2600K.

Anyway Id grab a 2500K + the MSI P67A-GD65 heard good things about that motherboard. Ram wise Id go with some G Skill Eco's.

For this forgo the 2600k and get the 2500k. You really will need that extra 100 if you want a half decent mobo at your limit. (I was able to get the 2500k, M4GZ, and 8 gb ram for about 425.)
