Define "good".

Raven is a big heavy beast. Depending on your PSU, you may have close calls with cable lengths. Raven is also a vacuum for dust/animal hair etc. I stopped using mine and went to a Mountain Mods because I wanted something smaller and easier to move.

Lots of good cases for $200 or a little more, depending on what exactly you want/need.

hmm, well i guess i would like a case that looks sleek, something along the lines of a lian li, or a silverstone raven. i saw fratcal design's define xl and i really liked that case as well. cases like that.

it needs to have good cooling, i have a cm hyper 212+ on my cpu and itll need to fit my crossfire 6870's. my psu is a corsair gs700W, in my rosewill challenger right now, all of its wires reach where they need to be without to much trouble if that gives you any clue.

Oh, but the Raven, the 02(E) in this case (supposedly the 02-E and the new revised 02W-B are the same now) is an exceptional case. Go around the different reviews regarding it and people on this site seem enthousiastic about it as well.

they are the same?

the rv02 - bw and rv02- ew?

but why are they 2 different prices on amazon =|

i really want to know if a raven is good for crossfire though, since i read online that with someones SLI setup, it actually got hotter so he had to switch to a HAF pc case

edit: what about the first raven? rv01? how good of a case is that?

RV02-BW and EW are not the same... BW uses the old RV02 design, evolution uses the same internals as FT02 (main difference is hard drive bays look it up on silverstone website they have all models presented there) but new RV02 models also have the updated fans from evolution series

RV02: http://www.silverstonetek.com/raven/products/r-photo.php?model=RV02&area=en
RV02-E: http://www.silverstonetek.com/raven/products/r-photo.php?model=RV02-E&area=en

Only real diffrence is the internals outside they look the same to me biggrin.gif

Raven is great for gpu cooling (my temps dropped like 10°C after getting it) and I tried running SLI with my friends GTX 480 and it still cools exceptionaly. The only problem I've seen is that some non reference coolers dont perform as well in this case as they should (something with heatpipe orientation and gravity)

oh ok cool, then ill definitely get a raven, now the only thing is which one...

im looking at the rv01 as well, since on amazon its only 20 dollars more. which would be better?

the rv02-ew or rv01?

when you say non reference coolers, you mean the card itself is non reference right? because i have an aftermarket cooler on my reference 6870

Sorry never looked into RV-01 so I cant make any reccomendations between those 2 and I'd be biased anyway because I own a RV-02

For non reference coolers I meant non back exhausting ones (some with cheap heatpipes have issues beacuse they rely on gravity for liquid in heatpipes) but I know that Gelid Icy Vision in your sig will work fine (the other 480 had it installed and had no problem cooling the card

All I can say is that I really like my case, sure its not the best there is but its different from most cases on the market and it has the window on the right side of the case unlike most so its perfect for my steup. I'm sure you'll like your silverstone case too biggrin.gif

Lots of good cases for $200 or a little more, depending on what exactly you want/need.

i was planning to have it on 2 books ( 1 book for the front and another for the back), and have this thin wooden mat underneath it so that my carpet wont be in contact with it or its area.

i also dont have any pets, so that shouldnt be a problem, though i might get one later in life, i just hope ill be able to clean it then.

would that keep the dust to a minimum?

edit:

looking at pics for the rv01, does it come with fans? i only saw 1 at the bottom and 1 at the top. i was wondering if it should come with more
