M4 Score, Good Bad?

Thread Starter
Hey All, just did a Crystal Mark 3.0.1. Benchmark of my M4, Just wondering if it's good or not??

I actually found 2xSATA3 ports on my board (woot!), not thinking I had any, good thing I kept the manual.

Heres my score:

I HAVE NOT downloaded the Firmware update from the CRUCIAL M4 website, due to you needing a blank cd (very dumb), and I dont have 1 kicking around.
Should I expect better results?

Jon

EDIT:My brain is stupid. Besides the firmware, that looks about right I think.

Just got my M4 a few hours ago from that Shellshocker, sitting on my desk. Yes, those are the speeds you should expect with your current firmware, and Yes, you should expect a massive increase in speed with the firmware update. If I could, I'd pass you the CD after I get the Asus 24x dvd burner that shipped today plugged in. worth the blank cd\\dvd, go!

OP you should expect massive improvements with the updated firmware. Great buy!

Those SATA 6GB/s ports that you mention are by Marvell. DON'T use them ever! Plug your m4 into native Intel SATA 3GB/s ports and you will get much better performance. Also get Intel RST drivers.

You won't get above 260MB/s sequential speed, but sequential speeds don't matter. 4k speeds is all you need to be looking at!

Alright, for sure let me know! Blank CD's I believe are a complete rip-off, we have to pay like 2.00 for one when companies basically get them for free to make 15,000,000 copies of a game lol.

I should NOT use these SATA3 Ports due to they aren' "Native" to Intel? Would I see an increase in benchmark score?

Lastly, I have installed Windows 7 on my 1TB W.d. HDD and on my SSD. How do I make it so basically the SSD is the MAIN drive, (everything runs off of it for example), instead of my 1TB HDD?

P.s. If anyone has any blank CD-R's, priv message me,
