Since I have lost all interest in AMD this round and didn't want to jump ship to intels current offerings quite just yet because of rumors and speculation about the new upcoming processors they will have on the market soon, I decided to buy an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Brand New for a steal price ($140 Shipped) off eBay (link).

I just wanted to know what you guys think about my decision. I know I would've been fine with my 955 but tbh I wanted something a bit newer that can hit higher clocks.. the 955 will continue its duties in my other rig.
You made a good one lol I have an 1100t at 4244mhz and my fx-8150 cant touch it, and i benched it as high as 5Ghz!! It also takes a lot to keep the 8150 cool. Might sell it in a week or so.

Thread Starter
So the 1100T came in today while I was @ work and when I got home I was suprised to find that it had arrived in a Newegg box, so I'm like this obviously can't be right.. So I looked at the shipping label, my name was spelled all wrong but the return address was none other then Newegg in Whittier, CA. Now I'm confused, but damn pleased at the same time. There was even a newegg invoice inside the box stating that it was shipped with UPS 2-Day delivery, this is friggin' awesome! and all I paid was $140 Shipped. I just dropped the chip into my board running @ stock. Don't have much time to play with the OCs now, will save that for later. Overall I'm very damn happy with my purchase.

That board is sick, I think its a good plan but personally if I were to buy a new CPU and motherboard at this point then I would just go sandy bridge plain and simple.

Mainly gaming. I play alot of Bad Company 2 and will be all over BF3 once it hits release day. I've been playing Driver San Francisco alot lately as well, corny storyline but awesome gameplay.

At least Intel wont string me along for nothing like AMD did.
Exactly. (And yeah, definitely happy with this purchase.)

I completely understand what you guys are saying and I appreciate the heads up but as I mentioned earlier, I've already experienced this unfortunately with my old 1055T. I was well beyond 4.0GHz though and I had my vcore pretty high so it was basically my fault and yes I learned my lesson.

Well, I think you're an idiot for actually being worried about the longevity of my motherboard. Already killed it once, really wouldn't mind doing it again.. warranty baby.

Thanks. Absolutely nothing about the new Bulldozer architecture registers any justification in my mind for choosing it over Thuban.

I think Im even more jelouse of your 4.5ghz oc now that I tried BD and went back to the 1100T lol I have extra money and know it should go to another gpu but I really want to try a custom loop to see if I can push my 1100T more haha, If i did I cant imagine I would get much more than 4320's though.

You might only get 4.3GHZ out of her, but man the benches at that speed are just starting to come alive and they sure do look nice

Congrats! I did the same.

I bought a 1090T 6 month of 1090T from a fellow OCN member, $125

DEFINITELY an upgrade from my Phenom first-gen 8650 lol. When I encode videos the percentages freaking SKIP NUMBERS.
