Thread Starter
Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help me out, i've always used AMD CPUs but recently moved over to an Intel core i7 2600k, ive read alot of good overclocking comes from this chip but i've only managed to push mine to 4.5GHz stable, thing is im a complete n00b with intel overclocking, can anyone point me in the right direction, i feel that i should at least get to 4.7GHz under a water loop, my specs are in my sig.

underwater, 5 ghz is a must! most of us are at 4.8 on air keeping un 70c. just set 50x multi, start at .08v higher then what your 4.8 voltage is and test stability on burntest.

I'd like to hit 5GHz but im not to sure about how far it is safe to push the voltage, im currently at 1.41 for 4.8GHz, how far would you recommend pushing the CPU voltage for a 24/7 overclock?

Don't go above 1.48. Well, that's my opinion. You could go up to 1.5 because that's Intel's specification limit. You should be able to hit 5Ghz on 1.44 easily, better off lowering it really. Get under 1.4
