You don't have write back cache enabled on that RAID setup, enable it and watch your 4k (single queue) writes go up.

hey guys, i'm getting abysmal benchmarks out of my M4 on SATAII, and i believe it has to do with my not configuring the sata controller properly
on my motherboard(P5N-E SLI) there is no clear "enable AHCI" option or anything in the bios, i can enable/disable JMicron sata controller, and i can enable/disable NVIDIA RAID, i don't think there are many more things i have access to change as far as sata parameters go, i'll have yet another look
also, i am currently having random lockup issues, and my video driver crashes during AS SSD bench sometimes...

EDIT:
okay, so i changed a few things, get a similar bench result, but its back to being stable again, i guess i need the jmicron controller enabled...
but, when it begins the 4k test, it sits there at 0mb/s for a few seconds before beginning, almost as if to freeze up on them, is this normal?

Your problem is the nvidia chipset. If it's the latest you can get, then there's nothing (AFAIK) you can do. Quick look around shows others getting similar speeds (maybe little high Seq writes but those don't matter).

yeah, after a bunch of looking around and alot of personal testing, i think i've got it about where it should be, which in real world performance, is still insane.

would it be worth it for me to pick up a different SATA controller for cheap? if so, recommendations anyone?

Hi I just installed my ssd and optimized it a bit but I'm not sure if its performing at its best. Browsed a few pages back and it seems to be doing ok in terms of read speed but not so good in terms of write speed. Any input or advice from you guys?

Hey, I am looking at getting a Crucial M4 128GB and was just curious what the differences are of the ones listed on Newegg.com and which one you would recommend. Thanks

Just purchased my 3rd M4.

This one will be going into the kids' computer.
