Ugh, they're the same price on Amazon. So tempting... Alas, I've already run though my tech fund for the month and no doubt will probably find a cheaper deal by the time I finish saving up for my new Ivy Bridge build.

As for the Crucial Adrenaline, I believe it's just an m4 but comes packaged with software which works similarly to Intel's SSD caching technology.

So it would be more pricy than the standard M4?

So what does it mean when 4k speeds take a dump, specifically write?
I noticed my taskbar icons are loading really slow, writes went from 70+ to the low 40's.

No, it is simply a caching solution.

It has been out for a long while now lol. You have to pay for the software with it. All it is is a caching solution for all systems.

Usually the main thing that affects 4K speeds is the motherboard's power saving features.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1262255/effect-of-power-saving-features-on-ssd-speed

Disable C1E, CSTATES, INTEL SPEEDSTEP and speeds should be higher.

Just ordered a 256GB M4 for my laptop yesterday, 2 day shipping was only $4 biggrin.gif.

Can't wait to get that thing in and replace my mechanical drive.

Since the BIOS is locked and I have no access to any of the power options, any suggestions I can take if I start seeing poor 4k speeds?

Are these numbers good?

I know the read and write speed are about right, but I don't know anything about the other numbers.
