You can put it in now and do the simple 3 steps above and done.
Wasn't the 9800GTX+ rebadged into the GTS 250? If so, you can expect results similar to what is shown here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...on,2764-8.html. I don't have experience with hybrid physX, but that's the threshold I'm looking for, when I find my card.

Also, I think you'll be completely fine with your current PSU as well.

Go into Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > select your options.

Or in Device Manager under Display adapters, disable the PhysX card
Good tip!

UNless I am wrong (nothing new there) it is the cuda cores that will do the Physx work and a 9500gt has only 32. A 9800GT has 112, a GTS 450 has 192 , etc.

I would not get anything less powerful than a 8800/9800gt and suggest a used GTX460 768 Mb. Mine works really well and is virtually silent - which says a lot since the rest of my rig is watercooled.
