I think the absolute max here would be the 570 so that would put my budget at about 300 euros. Not sure if there is a good sli setup available for 300 euros.
The 460s look nice though, would 460 in SLI match a 570? (not sure how much they go for here in holland)

About the 5870, i'm not sure if that's as good as 2 5770s because the 5770s are pretty much the easiest cards to overclock, you can get a 100mhz oc for free.
Don't know how well 5870s overclock. 6950 seems a bit overkill, i don't think ill ever use the 2gb of memory (which i'm guessing is a huge part of the price tag).
If the 560ti compares to a 6950, might be better off with that. I don't need that much memory and a 560ti is about 20% cheaper. But i don't think the 560ti is the best price/perf...

edit: 2x460 costs slightly less than a single 570 here. How does a 6870 compare to all of this? It's about the same price as one 460 here.

2x460's are equal to a 580 (see here), sometimes perform slightly better sometimes slightly worse, never really had SLI issues with them except when a game hasn't supported it initially, however single cards are better for compatibility.

The 2x460's would perform about 15%-20% better than a 570 (see here) but at your resolution a 570 would be more than enough for current gaming requirements.

I'd say which ever one out of them would be cheaper go for it biggrin.gif

Just noticed you mentioned about the 6870 crossfire, this actually is more powerful than a 460 sli still (see here), if you can get it at the same price as 460's they would be a good buy, they have there downsides too but probably not for what you want them for

Yes 6870s look like a good choice. However it's not sure if they perform better or as good as 460s at 1360x768, that's pretty much why i'm asking all these questions. There are no benches at this res. Not sure if a 570 is a good choice, it's slightly worse than 2 460s/6870s and by the time i can add a second 570 it's probably a lot smarter to buy a next gen card. So 6870s/460s seem to be the best price/perf right now, but i have no idea how well a 560 ti will do (single card and a lot cheaper).

once again thanks for all the answers

edit: Thing is... sli/crossfire doens't seem to scale as good at low resolutions (the cards are just eating out of there nose with that little work) other than the cpu bottleneck this could also be the reason why i didn't notice much performance increase when i got a second 5770.

I played the beta with a 480 maxed out. Not sure exactly how many FPS I got but it was so much I didn't notice. I think a 570 could do it.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Yes the 570 seems to be the best choice for a single card, but i'm not sure if the single card pros and the fact that i can add a second 570 (will that even run on a good quality 650w psu?) later on outweigh the higher performance two cards will give right now.

Thanks

If you plan on adding another 570 within a year that would be a good route, I think it's always advised to get the best card you can and then add another when you can (they are always reducing in prices).

I think an sli setup allows you to basically skip a generation of cards unless they introduce new features you may want like a new directx architecture.

Although I wouldn't recommend a 650w PSU unless its an 80 plus gold PSU for 2 x 570's as it would probably just about work, allowing no overclocking overhead or may even just fizzle out with applications that draw the most power out of a card such as furmark. Sorry I would suggest a more powerful PSU when you go for the second card.

Well considering i prefer a strong single card, and adding a second one in the future, wouldn't a 560 ti be a good choice then? Two of those should run fine with a 650w psu.

A good 650 should work fine with SLI GTX 560 TIs, not sure what kind of overclocking headroom you would have though.

I would recommend you get a 6870 or a 5870, or a GTX 470 or GTX 560 ti. Those all have similar performance, and would probably run the game on high with little trouble at that resolution.

Yeah of course it would work fine for you, it's a bit more powerful than a 460 and can draw less power and stay cooler so I'd say you should be okay with 560 ti's on your PSU, just don't go mad with overclocking when you get two lol.

It's usually more expensive than what you can get a 460 for, but not by a lot.
