It's called expecting a business to have some level of professionalism and pride in what they do.

So AMD didn't include something? They shouldn't have shipped it that way. That's what their QA and QC are for at their facilities.

Want to do them a favor and include it in their packaging? Have the courtesy toward your paying customer to inform them of why it was opened. Print it out on the invoice, or a 2nd piece of paper that's put in the shipping box.

Like I said...imagine buying underwear from a website and it coming opened. Are you really going to want to wear them?

This sounds like a good chance to return the proc and move to Intel

Had to get that off my chest
Someone above said their Fry's purchased one wasn't opened. So, it's not ubiquitous.

As for it being ONLY Newegg, I never said it was.

However, it seems to be that this whole thread was about someone's experience with...Newegg.

It'd be silly for me to say "Microcenter" in a Newegg thread, don't you think?

I would except someone mentioned earlier in the thread Intel does this too.

It's amazing, do you guys regularly buy opened packages wherever you go, or am I just too old fashioned to expect businesses to not treat their customers like crap?

If something isn't on Amazon, I just find the cheapest price online and buy it from there. Newegg usually isn't on my radar anymore, Amazon is almost always cheaper unless they don't have it.. and in that case there's cheaper elsewhere.

What happened Newegg.
I'm with you, it's all about amazon now. They have almost everything, even used products if you want to go for that. Only time I'll buy from newegg now is if they have a good sale on something I want, other that than, there are better options now.

AMD was shipping a badge in the box that said "Sandy Bridge Slayer". They're having retailers remove these badges prior to shipping.
