Need recommendations! Netbook/small laptop

Sup ladies and gents

I need a laptop/netbook for daily use only, no gaming. Just enough power to run Microsoft Office software, check e-mail, maybe do some blogging and store music/photos. Oh and I'll also need a microphone to record lectures. Portability is key for me. Also, last laptop I owned used to overheat constantly so looking to avoid that at all costs!

Looking to spend the lowest amount of money possible preferably under 300$. Any suggestions as to what I should get??

im personally a big fan of the asus 10xx and 12xx series of laptop/netbooks my personal favorite is the 1215 12" screen and dual core processor although a bit pricy

from what ive seen if your going to watch any hd movies on it the new amd processors with 6310 gpus beat out the atoms and intel hd when it comes to watching hd content

I think I'm going to try for an open box item. Hopefully something like this will come back up, what do you think of it?

wow thats quite the deal the 475 isnt a horrible netbook cpu i would definetly go max on the memory tho i think its 2gb

ohhh just found this its the exact same as you posted just .20mhz slower cpu and $20 cheaper

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16834230029R

the cpu should do you just fine for web surfing and word processing although like i said id go 2gb of memory as browsers tend to be memory hogs and would chew up 1gb pretty quickly.

also have you condsidered picking up a cheap ssd for it it would help pick up the speed some or maby just a faster regular hdd

Hey, I'm looking at this one, since both open boxers are gone now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834230014

I'm hesitant though because the laptop I bought before with the heat issues was an ASUS. It seems to have everything I'm looking for, will probably upgrade ram to 2 GB.

What do you think? Have you heard of any heat issues with this line of netbooks or anything?

Its not a bad netbook at all as for the overheating i havent heard of any problems with the net books plus the new amd zactate processors arnt suppost to run hot at all and are really good for netbooks

also how important is cpu power to you for another $40 you can get dual core with better resolution screen

Looking at this now, I read a review on another asus of the same model but different color. Guy said it ran hot. Not going down that road again. Guess I'm going to try acer.

This looks pretty good I just can't find out if it has a built in microphone which would be nice

Okay deciding between the laptop above or this

it really depends on what your needing more gpu or cpu the i3 is going to be better than the c-50 but the 6250 in the c-50 is going to be better than the intel hd integrated gpu
