Has anyone tried BD 8 core on Windows 8?

Thread Starter
I have been reading that it should provide a huge performance increase but have seen no results. Has anyone tried it with the windows dev preview?

There are performance gains and reduced power usage. However, these gains are generally not huge.

Current W8 is not even beta yet. And it was released before BD, so i dont think it includes a lot of optimizations.

From one test I have seen a FX-8150 vs. i5 2500k at stock speed. The FX-8150 wins over the i5 2500k. AMD say something like the FX chips is design for windows 8.

So a 3.6Ghz 8150 vs a 3.3Ghz 2500K?

Looks like some good results so far. Can't wait to see what kind of performance increase the Beta will yield.

In a multithreaded test, where 8 cores barely best 4 cores. Most likely.

True. But we don't know how an I5 or I7 perform on win 8 either. This is just BD vs BD. Will intel see just as much of an increase?
