What fans to use?

Thread Starter
Hi all.

At the end of this month I am purchasing a new case for my system:

http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Silverstone-TJ07-with-Pre-Modded-Roof-for-Triple-Radiator-Dual-Loop-Ready--TJ07-B-TOPMOD-pid-12684.html

I intend to use a XSPC RX480 to cool 2 x HD 6990's and the Hardware Labs Black Ice GT Stealth 360 to cool my 2600k.

My question is, what fans should I ideally use on my RAD's? I know that I should be able to fit push/pull on the RX480, but the Black Ice GT Stealth 360 will only be able to have push installed because of the size of the case.

Any advise on what would be ideal will be appreciated!

Many thanks.

Yea, the 1850 Gentle Typhoons work well on my gts360, I don't use a fan controller on it thou, no need to turn them down.

High speed deltas (afb1212vhe) on a fan controller.

Three 38mm x120mm deltas in pull out performed my 6 AP-15's in push/pull at a lower speed with less sound. Crank it up and it's like a jet lol.

of course a 38mm fan is going to outperform a 25mm fan...it's like having shrouds on your fans!

Personally, I would do the AP-15s...best fan out there price/performance to noise ratio...

Three 38mm fans out performed six 25mm fans and was also quieter.

Great for benching.

my previous statement still stands..in most applications, doing p/p on most modern rads doesn't yield an extraordinary increase in cooling...check out skinnee labs or martinm's writeups...adding shrouds to 25mm fans is the equivalent to running 38mm fans...

I am definitely a Noctua evangelist. If you can stomach their colour scheme (looks awesome in my build) they're probably the best out there considering their performance/noise/longevity ratio.
