The power requirements of enthusiast and gaming PCs have increased dramatically over the last few years, due to the development of ever more powerful and sophisticated CPUs and graphics processors. During this time, the computer power supply unit has risen in stature from being a lowly and unimportant component choice to become one of the most fundamentally critical components in any modern PC.

While the general trend has been higher energy consumption, there are many consumers that don't need a high end kilowatt power supply. There is a considerable market for mid-range units to power a single graphics card setup, somewhere around 600W of power.

The Jou Jye BITWIN BW-B620JL 620W is one such mid-range power supply, appearing not to compromise on aesthetics or functionality. The BITWIN BW-B620JL is 80PLUS Bronze certified and comes with an good price of $99. But what's particularly interesting about this Jou Jye power supply is that a second unit can be paired up to boost the power output to over 1200W. It's not common that we see an innovation like this, so let's take a closer look at this Jou Jye unit and see how it performs.

It's a good unit, just a bit samey. Antec has a bunch of units on that platform, SeaSonic is selling them, I think a couple other companies have them...

Right now; there's about 8 "different" units out, based on this design.
XFX Core 450/550/650
Antec Neo ECO
Antec HCG 400/420/620
Seasonic S12II Bronze 380/420/520/620
Seasonic M12II Bronze 520/620
Jou Jye Premium 80+ Bronze units
(Unreleased) Arctic Cooling Fusion R2
(Unreleased?) Silver Power SS units

Long story short, S12II had made it's way into the channel and it's been pretty big. I think there's 1 or 2 guys I'm missing but the SilverPower site is down right now (so I can't check if they got released) and nothing came of the Arctic Cooling units.
