They use stuff much more realistic.

Simunition is paintballs that are fired at out real guns at very nigh velocities. So high they can cause injury. This way people can train with their actual weapon. It just requires that you change out the recoil spring and barrel in a autoloading gun so that the gun will cycle with the lower power ammo.

In my opinion using high power paint balls in real guns is a million times better than some glorified video game.

Just got out of bct, ait, have asked several people in my unit, showed the link AND asked a ranger in my platoon and we all agree. What we use is NOTHING like that.

Talked to marines, and air force. Idk about navy.

You're using the simulation that is shown in the video, or what exactly?
(I just don't know where your comment came from, since the other comment was regarding what the 'bullets' may be.)

I think he is saying they never used simunition. The way I found out about it is because I know guys in police forces who have trained with it. They said they heard about it from military guys. I'm guessing it's not very common in the military though based on his comment.

I have no experience with the stuff first hand.

I believe these guys are using simunition. (caution language)

I doubt you'd see anything like that just out of ait.... give it some time and you may, but my guess is that's a marine unit going by the uniform.

There's no telling what he got hit with anyway, it hit him in the dick, a pump gun @ 200fps would put someone on the ground if you get hit where he got hit.

Makes me wonder how elite this unit is if he's not wearing protection.... :/

Then you've never heard of what the Marine Corps built on Camp Pendleton...

simunition just uses a replacement upper receiver, it uses low power 9mm cartridges. Yes it hurts. Yes its messy.
its a pain in the behind to use, like every 15th shot will pop in the receiver, making an awesome mess. I've fired so many Sim rounds i couldn't count.

The Marine in that video doesn't have a Sim receiver on his m16, but he does have a mask on, so its likely one side has Sim rounds, the other side is acting (pretending). And Sim rounds are very common in the infantry for obvious reasons. Non combat units don't usually need to train at that level.

The only piece of protection we have on that special area is a thin flap of kevlar that attaches to our Interceptor vest, which by the looks of it he isn't wearing, so that's his fault.

Btw, I was Marine infantry, deployed three times, so I should know

I still think paintballing is just as good.

Cheaper, too.
