[Engadget]Motorola Droid RAZR hands-on (video) - Page 2

Now the question is how locked down the rom and bootloader is on it.

You know what sucks is that Apple will release only one phone, but it has the best you can get at the time in every aspect, but the droids all cherry pick the best options and spread them out 4-5 phones that seem to be released every month.

Already been answered by Motorola = Locked bootloader as Verizon wants. Imagine that.

Edit: This makes me worry about the Nexus when it hits Verizon, if it's bootloader will be locked...

Does motorola really think it wise to reuse the RAZR name? I mean, besides the fact that there are still original RAZRs in use, that was just an awful phone. Like everybody I know got one, and we all hated the thing a month later. That low-battery warning was probably the dumbest idea ever implemented in technology. The noise it made is forever engraved into my brain.

Yeah, but there's 2 versions of the prime.

Galaxy Nexus for Verizon.

Nexus Prime is GSM for AT&T / T-Mobile, and for Canada's Rogers, which is the network I'm on.

I doubt the Nexus will be locked down, it better not be!

I'm just hoping they all are the same device. I've been waiting patiently for years for a Nexus device to hit Verizon, and if I happen to get some gummed up cheap version with a locked bootloader as a "Nexus device", I'm gonna rage.
