Need advice on new build

Hey people.
I thought I would post here as the wisdom provided is legendary.
I'm finally going to get around to upgrading my computer. My current rig is ok, but I plan on playing games like Battlefield 3 on ultra [in 3D with the glasses perhaps], or any other game which needs the power.

Here is my current shopping list of items I'm planning on getting:

Intel CPU Core i7 2600K Unlocked Sandy Bridge Quad Core Processor
ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 XMP
Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 2.5" 64GB SSD [For use with the Intel smart response tech to speed up my system]
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive [For Windows 7]
2x Western Digital WD20EARX 2TB Caviar Green Quiet SATA 6Gb/s IntelliPower 64Mb Cache 8ms HDD
Asus GeForce GTX 590 NVIDIA Graphics Card - 3GB [Maybe get me a set of 3D glasses to use with the occasional game that supports it]
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 Soundcard

Other bits:
Roccat Kave Solid 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
Razer Blackwidow Keyboard.
Asus VE278Q 27" LED Monitor [Not sure about this, any thoughts?]

I already own a Corsair Professional Series HX1000W Power supply, which Im taking along for the ride to my new build.

Any critique on the above or any pointers will be very helpful.
Alternatives are also welcome and as for budget, there is no budget as far as I'm concerned. I just want to play games like Battlefield 3 on ultra settings on a 27" screen.

I'm not 100% up to speed on all the techo speak, been a while since I build a PC.
Is it true that I wont need the hyperthreading the 2600k offers, and that I am better of with a 2500k or something similar?

Don't get the 590. Get the 580 3GB and SLI it now or in the future. Otherwise, awesome build.

Yeah, not the first time thats been said to me either. I think your right, spending over £600 on a card is a little excessive I think.

If you're just using this rig for gaming, go with the 2500K instead. Also 8GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming.

you could use the money saved for other things, like a bigger SSD (so you won't need to SRT with a regular HDD)

I've heard countless problems arising from GTX 590's, but I personally have not owned one. Maybe read up on those problems and consider going with another card, such as a GTX 580, or maybe two?

If you do go for a sound card. Make sure it's PCI-E 1
Because you probably won't be able to get to the pci slots, if you did later go Sli
--------

I was using a PCI sound card! And had to get rid of it, when I went Sli!
