New Gigabyte gtx 570's DOA?

Thread Starter
I just recieved my order from newegg for 2 GIGABYTE|GV-N570OC-13I REV2.0 R's and I can't get the system to boot with either. I don't even get a post screen. Nothing. I checked cables, reseated card, cleared cmos and nothing with either card. Unplugged everything except the card as well. I pop my 5870 back in and it boots just fine. Motherboard throws a code F7 when trying to boot with the 570's.

So the question is, both cards DOA?

Well F7 is gpu related. Does that Corsair 1000w happen to be a HX1000? If so chances are you're overloading one of the 500w unit's.

do you get the motherboard making that beep sound? Are fans spinning up, but nothing is showing on the display?

It beeps and displays the code. Like I mentioned, the 5870's work fine. Using the same plug arrangement. How can I be overloading at boot?

What about you do it the proper way ?

1- Slap the 5870 in : Boot windows and uninstall all AMD drivers.
2- Remove the 5870 and slap 1 (ONE) 570 and get to windows, install GeForce Drivers.
3- Close computer and slap the second 570.
4- ????
5- Profit

Before removing the 5870's I booted into safe mode and wiped the drivers. And how do I close a tech bench smartass? Thanks for the useless reply.

The fans turn on fine for both cards.

useless ?

I just gave you the right way to do it.
You didn't said you uninstalled Amd drivers and you did mention you slapped the 2 570 at the same time to go install the drivers.

I just told you to do it with 1 single card.

EDIT : Did you tried with a single card to boot ?

EDIT 2 : Being a douche with people trying to help you, +1
We are taking our time to help you and yet you find a way to spit on 'em.

As far as I can read, you never tried with one card since it's never mentionned anywhere.
Now instead of trying with 2 570 to boot, try them 1 by 1.

Yes even though you initiated the hostility, I am the ungrateful one. abs.exe, feel free to go find something else to do.

Of course I tried the cards one at a time. I might have been a little vauge when I said in the OP, "I can't get the system to boot with either."

Drivers would have nothing to do with it if it wont even boot. The chance of receiving 2 bad cards is very small.

Do you have a molex to pci-e power adapter. Try a different 12v rail.

Thanks for the response. I realize that. I tried different plug arrangements. The 570's power draw/needs are only marginally higher than the 5870's and they work famously, OC and all off the same plugs. Even one card at a time. Both are 6 pin. Newegg reviews, not on this exact model but the next one up (SOC) had complaints about non functioning cards. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814125382
