VCORE issue :/

Thread Starter
Hi all,

So, i got my 1st time OC up to 4.5ghz (i7 2600k) but the VCORE seems awfully high, using the onboard ASUS monitors i see it jumping over 1.4v, anything i can do here?

Also, i just cant seem to get stable over 4.5 either, PC either won't boot (freezes) to windows or blue screens straight after post.

Any help much appreciated smile.gif

Thanks all...

Well what do you have the voltage set in the bios? Take it off auto, put it to offset mode and mess around with - values. Just keep going lower until you fail stress tests. Also what are your temps like? Not sure if a hyper 212+ can take a 2600k much over 4.5ghz depending on ambients to be honest.

Temps seem to be ok, never went over 60c after a few hours of prime, there's plenty of cool air in the case, and my room is around 21c.

The offset confuses me a little (1st time at OCing) how much should i drop it by?

I have been running prime again while i post, after 45 min temp is 46c and holding, Vcore is 1.328

Well first just leave it on auto, boot into Windows, and load up prime95 to see what the load voltage is. I'm assuming 1.4v is auto, so if you wanted 1.3v set it -.1v, 1.2v would be -.2v, etc... I would maybe try getting it around 1.25v to start with and go from there. In case you set it to low and it doesn't boot, don't worry just clear CMOS.
