Samsung is still a bigger company with more diverse subdivisions than Apple. How can Samsung be fail?

Yeah, not Samsung's fault, some incompetent employee's fault.

Admit it, if you were Apple right now, you'd be pissed about this. Go ahead Apple, take Samsung to court for this

Not to burst your bubble for this one, but you are not remotely close.

When you place an ad, that has someones product, that is not owned by you, in the ad, you HAVE TO get permission from the owner of that product.

The owner of the product HAS TO sign off on that use of their product, and have to license a specific image, in your ad. Google, in this case, supplied the image for all of Google maps.

If Samsung wanted to display a Google product, it had to use the image that Google supplied. The same goes with apple, they had to use the Google supplied image.

If Samsung or apple used another image for commercial purposes, it would violate about 20 criminal and civil laws.

It was not lifted, or handed, it was supplied by the 3rd party for commercial purposes.

If you do a search, you will find that hundreds of thousands of products are the same way.

Yes, but what if that one person that "made" the ad (grabbed it from Apple and edited it) is the only one that knew about it being grabbed from Apple's site? All those that he forwards the ad to have no clue, they just look at the ad and say it looks fine. Are they supposed to randomly assume that they should check out Apple's site to be sure that the random Google Maps screenshot wasn't taken from their site?

That is how Jobs got the idea of a GUI from Xerox. However, it was all Wozniak's work. Jobs was not great at creating the hardware or software; he was just good at marketing to consumers.

Nowadays, the tech industry is cutthroat and people do not share ideas. Things have changed. Now we have brandtards proclaiming one company is original and the other company are copycats. Imagine how science would develop without sharing of ideas.

I guess Atari should have sued Commodore and Nintendo for copying their idea of a game console.

That's pretty ignorant seeing as Apple doesn't sue other companies for simply making a smartphone or laptop. They sue for copying IP. Specific design choices of that product that are copied. Atari has no reason to sue Nintendo because Nintendo didn't copy any of their IP. If they had made a similar PCB or copied the physical look then Atari certainly would of had a reason to. Steve met with the engineers at Xerox-Parc on the GUI everyone seems to like bringing up. He had Apple engineers go and design their version of a mouse themselves. Xerox-Parc, which was just a research lab, didn't give them any of their code. They simply showed it off to them just as companies do today every year at conventions but in a more intimate setting because they knew people there. You think that companies shared ideas with one another back then? Do you even know why Steve and Woz created Apple? Because IBM didn't have what they wanted and neither was IBM going to share any ideas with them.

imo, samsung is the one going overboard with all this competing with the biggest/largest, aka Apple atm. Samsung has a very big ego/self-image as all Koreans do (yea half of my friends are Korean) so this is not surprising they choose Apple to compete (though not law-abidingly).

Came to say something like this... Absolutely NOTHING in that screenshot is made by Apple. It's just a Google maps image...

Wow, nice generalization there. You think just because a few of your friends are Korean it's alright to make a comment like that?
