Ok. Well I was just wondering what you paid for yours.

In the US on NewEgg.com it was listed for $289.99 at the time, and it was the ONLY place you could buy one from in the USA.
I paid $315.36 for my Sapphire HD-6950 TOXIC editon, on 9/2/2011.
California Tax = added $25.37 to the $289.99
Shipping was FREE as I Will Called Pick-Up.
Mail in Rebate = -$20.00 OFF the $289.99 {approved but still waiting for Rebate CreditCard}
And I got 2 FREE games, DIRT3 and Deus Ex : Human Revolution with it.

So $269.99 if you lived in the USA anywhere BUT California, if you got the MIR, and got Free Shipping which you can now on this card.

I was wondering whether I should wait for the 7xxx series, but looking at the prices you paid, they seem to be more expensive when they are released. Do you know what price the 7950 will be? Any estimates?

IMO you have to justify the increased cost of the Toxic but they are both great cards. Flex isn't really necessary but can be useful.
I've got two of the DIRT3 HD6950s and the shaders unlocked on both no issues at all

Scan.co.uk have got the DIRT3 for £208.

Does the air get pumped out of the case of just dumped inside?

I think I might wait for the 7xxx series, but I don't want to find out that they're super expensive in February and miss out on getting a deal on a 6950.

Would there be many advantages of the 7950 over the 6950 and what are the estimated prices?

The TOXIC is just like REFERENCE designed cards, the Hot air is pulled out from the case and forced out the Rear Plate Bracket, and Sapphire even tried to enlarge the Rear Plate openings to make this more efficient ...

I don't think anyone has posted projected prices of the 7xxx series, nor does anyone know the firm release dates. You can wait ... but most likely the 7xxx series cards will be more expensive than the 6xxx versions, and most likely the 6xxx series will drop in price somewhat, but not as much as people hope/think as they are already running in short supply of many of these cards, and that tends to keep prices high.

I'd buy the MSI if it's cheaper, as they are BOTH great cards, OC like mothers, both have a strong chance to UnLock, and the MSI cooling keeps the GPU slightly cooler ... in my case the TOXIC was cheaper at the time, so that was the better choice.

ONLY WARNING ! make sure it's the MSI Power-Edition/OC TwinFrozrIII 2GB card ...
MSI makes SEVEN different 6950 cards ... and there are TWO different 1GB 6950 TF3's that would be rather foolish to buy, and ONE other TwinFrozrIII Power-Edition 2GB card, that isn't OC'd or as easy to UnLock, not sure if that one has the Dual Bios/Switch, we don't get that one in the USA.
