[BF3Blog] EA tries to manipulate Battlefield 3 scores in Norway - Page 11

In the USA you get to weed out potential bad jurors....I see no problem weeding out potential bad reviewers.

I dont see any problems here.
Yup. Feel the same way. They just dont want to purposefully walk into a minefield because someone was expecting MW4 out of the game.

This is far from news and far from "EA being EA"...It's how the world of gaming works, get used to it.

This, plenty of time to play through the singleplayer while they find and fix the last few niggles.

Meh, they can give the game to who ever they want, they own it.

The reviews will just have to wait till release day.

Its in their best interest to get high scores, I see no problem here....

From a business point of view it makes sense...until you get the bad publicity that it will inevitably cause. When you read a review - or even a review aggregate - you want as fair a reflection of the game as possible, not just a statutory good score.

And the thing is with this kind of tactic, the more business minded reviewers will make sure that their reviews are kinder to EA so that EA will give them the opportunity again next time.

Exactly.

It's the same reason why every single Call of Duty game gets 9.5/10 and "Editors choice". If MW3 doesn't get likened to the second coming of Christ by the major review sites, I'll eat my hat.

considering that most reviews are bought i never ever cared about this kind of thing

"omg this website gave it a 10/10!" but then i by the game and find out i dont like it at all...same thing with movie reviews, i jsut dont go based off that. I read them to get a general idea but until i experience it myself i wont ever buy or not buy something based off reviews. Exmaple would be Black Ops.....i was given that as a gift from a friend through steam, thought it was going to be good ebcuase the reviews said it was and guess what? it was a broken version of MW1 and MW2...so there ya go

Great perspective! Just because a media outlet states that something is awful or excellent does not mean that it will be a perfect fit for every gamer. It really comes down to understanding what it is you like and do not like about a particular genre of game, as well as the company that created it (and a great deal of other things).

If a person is really concerned about the quality of BF3 just wait. If you play console rent it. If you play PC, wait for a nice price drop, peruse forums (several different ones) of people who played BF3 (and games of this type) or just play on a friends system if you can.
