That menu is for multitasking and its awesome. After you stop messing with settings and stuff so much, it will be mainly your apps you open most.

gotta drain it out and recharge it quick
and speaking of the battery problem, as soon as I learn most of the basic tricks about android, I think the next step I'll take is to find a way to downclock this thing to 1.0G redface.gif Think this will save the battery by at least 10%?
omg i just
fully charged it, use it for 20 mins and its at 87 percent....this isn't looking good......

running LTE the whole time will drain that thing down alot. it's just how it is when you have an LTE phone. it seems to be pretty harsh with the nexus though. extended battery will help though. you can switch off LTE when you don't need it to make the phone last longer.

also if you didn't know, charging the phone with the wall charger will be twice as fast as charging it while it's hooked up to a car charger or a computer. the nexus can charge at up to 1A. wall charger = 1A and usb charges at .5A

they do make car chargers that charge at 1A though, and wall chargers that only charge at .5A so check the back to make sure you are getting what you want. 1A = thumb.gif

i forgot you aren't in the states. yeah you should have the 3g version and it doesn't come with an extended battery as of yet. just keep using the phone and charging it properly. people on verizon are claiming a little better accuracy on day 2 of having the phone. they say the first few percentage drops 10%-15% aren't showing up accurately yet.

It's not the Megapixels that counts but the camera sensor. After playing around with the camera features, I feel the picture quality is better than my Evo 3D and comes real close to the Iphone 4s.

I can purchase an international version right now if I wanted to but the problem is if there's any defects I wont be able to return the device or have it repaired.

I know. I was just messing around. biggrin.gif

I swear among the pages that were shown on there, half of them i pressed the "back" button all the way back to home screen. Why would they still show up there?
or was it just like a "history" button? showing *closed* app that i opened a while ago.
was concerned about the battery
The brightness was set to a tiny bit above middle
technically I played with it for about 2 hours and the other hours are in idle locked mode, I hope it can handle more work after a few days like you guys said

That's your history or what has used your batter on that charge, NOT what's running.

also, go to settings > apps > running to see what else is still going. Be careful of what you stop because some things are tied into background processes like mail, etc.
i noted switching "out" of an application (leaving it in the task switcher) pauses the application. For example I launched Clock, pressed the back button and a few minutes later opened up the switcher and the time displayed was frozen to when i hit the back button. So apps that arent in the foreground will pause.
and it's technically called a "recent apps" menu

I would highly recommend against doing this. It will kill more battery than just leaving it alone. Android (ESPECIALLY icecream sandwich) handles app management fine. Just let it do it's thing. You'll get the same negatives as using a task killer. The one thing that is always on top of that list is the screen, and doing the above only adds to more screen usage and kills the battery quicker on it's own. Only close out running apps if you need to figure out a problem app.

Some good reads that pertain to app closing:

On another note,

I'm loving this thing more and more every day.

Yeah, there's something i noticed, apps in the task switcher do not appear to be running if you check Settings > apps> Running. It looks like it's more like a "recent history" than anything else. Apps I guess cache their state but are essentially inactive. Swiping something out of recent apps doesnt close anything, or stop processes from running.

Google Music is an example. Open it, play a song and leave it playing while you press the home button > swipe it out of "recent apps" menu and the music still plays.

My current home screen:

Is that clock/weather widget included? I haven't got around to getting the phone yet.

Also, is there ANY way the bottom buttons can be hidden? It really doesn't make sense for it to be called a 4.65" touch screen when you can NEVER use the bottom portion. That would be cool if you could hide them somehow and make them appear by pressing the lock button or something. Or, if they could be smaller.

The bottom buttons disappear (replaced by faint grey dots) when you are looking at photo or video, but a tap brings them back.

edit: Just checked, and they do fade away, but I haven't got a photo on hand that is large enough to extend into that area of the screen. I'll make one to try.

edit 2: I made a 1280 X 720 photo, and it stops short of where the buttons would be.
