For what it's worth:

"The 1.2GHz dual-core processor was startlingly fast. It actually felt a wee bit quicker than our Galaxy S II, and given that Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus were apparently built for one another, we're assuming there's some deeply ingrained optimizations to thank. Swiping from pane to pane was faster than its ever been on Android, and the new Roboto font actually is super eye-pleasing."

Overall really not super impressed with the release. Most of the features have been done before by the competition. 4.0 looks nice but if it still has terrible battery issues of its predecessors then your forced to get a custom rom which is fine, but i like thinking of it more as an option not a necessity. I was a big android supporter but after 3 phones and a tablet i have started moving over to ios it just seems to get more things right. I hope 4.0 is gonna be great but i will wait for some more real world testing

Look at the Nexus S, it came out almost a year ago too.
Are we really having this discussion?

iPhone 4 -> iPhone 4S = SAME body, SAME screen, different CPU, Camera, Siri.

Nexus S -> Galaxy S2 and TONS of other phones -> Galaxy Nexus = 4.65" screen, 720p, Dual Core CPU, ICS, NFC, 4G, LTE, etc. etc. etc. etc. & etc.

My point, with the iPhone, you're stuck with the same phone option for 12 - 16 months before a new one comes out, and in the case of iPhone 4 -> 4S, you got the same phone body and screen, with some upgrade.

With Android, there are lots of phone options throughout the year, and they keep raising the bar faster than Apple.

I just wish Google would take a note from Apple and hire a new Marketing Team, they didn't do a very good job showcasing this phone.

Overall I was pleased with everything I saw.. A little disappointed in how much gravity it seems Samsung was given throughout the design process. Namely the finish, materials, texture of screen, and name. Also found it interesting that they commented on the GHz of the CPU but not the specific CPU powering the device (yet). I feel this was deliberate as the Exynos is by all rumors not inside. Also worth noting was how two major features IMO didn't work during the presentation face-unlock and that in-call/reject quick message.

I take away from the event excitement for the upcoming Q1-Q2 dual core devices running ICS. I'm also looking forward to the possibility of a proper Nexus Prime Sprint (CDMA) variant hopefully powered by a Exynos at a later date.

ICS looks great, by far IMO the highlight of the event.

When have the Nexus phones ever been considered flagship hardware-wise?

Its the SAME cpu in the now half-a-year-old Galaxy S2 (same clock speed, too), lower rez camera, same screen and same resolution as the Galaxy S II HD LTE, etc. All its got is Android 4.0, which doesnt even look that great.

Sorry, ill be getting the Galaxy S2 Hercules.
Camera megapixels aren't everything, much like how CPU clock isn't everything. My Fascinate isn't really showing it's age thanks to all my mods but it would be nice to upgrade.

The Nexus One was stupidly spec'd when it came out and wasn't defeated, hardware wise, for a while.
