Is there ANY word on the price yet?

I grabbed a Galaxy S2 recently, and I'm thinking about returning it for a Galaxy Nexus, but not if it's over 200 bucks.

Well imo you can't really compare this phone to an iphone. I don't see how someone could even consider these two phones with the screen size difference. When my buddy pulls out his iphone it looks like a toy.

The only thing going for the nexus vs. the iphone 4s is the 4G and double data (which is just a verizon thing..they could easily double data for 3g phones but its just a way to entice people to 4g). My sister has a 4s and it's pretty slick and a solid feeling device. I'll give credit where it's due.

I really want to like the nexus, but it looks like i'll play with it in store before putting an order online. without ICS, nexus is just any other phone...i'm almost tempted to wait even more for other offerings coming in 2012. plastic build quality is meh and the camera on the iphone is pretty snappy (this instant shutter thing must appeal to old android users...cause the iphone is fairly instant as well) and of much higher quality.

i'm not sure if comparing the iphone 4s to a toy is a good comparison when the nexus is almost entirely plastic on the exterior with a flimsy battery cover that apparently falls off when dropped (see nexus drop test)

What I meant was the size of it when I said toy. Just any other phone without ICS? Thats crazy, how many phones have 720p screens? The phone has plenty going for it. I mean you either like android or you like IOS. Most people don't cross over between the two. Imo iphone is good for people like my 50 year old mother. Very easy to use and you can't really screw anything up because you can't really change much.

Why don't you just keep the GS2 and wait for the ICS update. That's what I'm doing

I'm in the same boat, (not getting it until the 32gb comes out, but by then, the 28-32nm phones will be coming out in 2012) 16gb without even the option of micro-sd is really awful.

after the OS, you'll only probably get 14gb of space.

It's got awesome HD viewing capability, BUT you don't the space to place movies on it & a decent music library.

& NO, I don't want to stream my music from the cloud, or watch youtube videos in HD. I want cloud-less storage.

Galaxy Note looks mighty tempting, what with micro-sd, I could add storage to my heart's content.

plastic samsung quality is a bad trait.
some reviewers say it feels much better then the SGS2 which can only be a good thing but I prefer how HTC phones feel in your hand.
Apart screen and NFC there is nothing going for the G Nexus, the HTC Rezound has the 720P display with higer dpi then the IPhone 4 and G Nex.
If only I lived in US, would picked up Rezound in a instant!
But my upgrade is due and I cannot wait until March/April for Tegra 3 phones so am getting Sensation XE.

I'm sorry, but I just have to interject in here in regards to build quality. I hear this argument all the time, ESPECIALLY by people who immediately draw comparisons between the iPhone's slick 'glass' body and design to Nexus's 'plasticky' feel and standard design. This argument never seemed to make much sense to me for one main reason:

Literally every_iphone_user puts a case on their iPhone. I NEVER understood this infatuation with the look of an object when you just go ahead and cover it up. It's like putting plating on a ferrari. I would be ecstatic with a phone which uses high quality materials (read: droid razr) which WOULDN'T require me to slap a case onto it, completely masking everything but the screen. The iPhone, as shown in every god damn drop example, is rendered completely worthless if dropped without a case... the thing just shatters. What's the point about praising the aesthetic value of a product if it's NEVER actually used in that condition, nor actually usable?

While you may dismiss the plastic parts of the Nexus as a 'toy', I (and I reckon most other people who use and don't just stare at their devices) prefer the functionality, usability and ergonomics of the galaxy nexus over the artificial looks of the iPhone.

But my upgrade is due and I cannot wait until March/April for Tegra 3 phones so am getting Sensation XE.

The problem with the Rezound is that:

1) the screen is S-LCD. While It's not bad, it's not as good as the IPS display on the iphone 4s nor the super amoled screen on the nexus.
2) the sucker is thick. the iphone and nexus are between 8-10 mm, while the rezound is nearly 14. It also weighs more.
3) battery life. HTC has not been known for their battery life performance, and the rezound is no exception. It sports a very small battery, 1620mAh.
4) Sense 3.5. Whether or not you like it, it's extra bloatware added, slowing down the phone and the release of future software updates.

Really, the only two advantages of the rezound are the fact it has a removable sd card slot and the higher clocked processor. and maybe beats audio (if you like listening to music drowned in bass). Otherwise, the nexus is pretty clearly the winner.
