No microSD slot, unfortunately. Oh well, I'll be waiting for the HTC quad core phone rumor. Hopefully it comes out in Q1 or Q2 on Sprint. biggrin.gif

I need great storage LOL. I have 1GB internal memory (which I use for apps) and a 16GB microSDHC card (which I use for music). My card is almost full, so I'll be upgrading to a 32GB soon, and I know that will fill up quickly, so 64GB microSDXC here I come! Weeeeeee! biggrin.gif

Lastly, who's excited for CM9? Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot. smile.gif

No Google wallet apparently... am I going to miss something?

I think there will be ways to circumvent.

They cannot stop us, they cannot stop the future. Google wallet.

At the rate this phone is being released, someone will find Bigfoot first.

seriously, delaying and hyping up a phone for so long/so much with close to no hardware advantages against existing phones, i swear google and samsung are just losing more and more sales everyday.

The way I see it is that this whole launch is now in Verizon's court---and they've already got the exclusivity (or at least the guise of exclusivity). From their perspective, nothing else really needs to be done. The idea of a "Google Phone" will sell itself, with no big advertising push necessary. Internet word of mouth should be enough to bring sales of the G-Nex to a comfortable level for them, and meanwhile, they're free to spend time and money creating ad campaigns for their other phones. You know, the ones that won't sell without those ads.

Only time will tell. But I for one suspect we won't see many ads for this phone. Verizon has a powerful enough marketing team to know when not to waste their time.

ok. I can udnerstand that, however there are still a lot of strong competition around. good ol iphone and samsung GSII are the most competitive. With such a close hardware and software spec between the GSII and GN, I think people have less patience would have gone for the GSII within these months. Like seriously, what have they really lost in not getting the GN? ICS? Custom roms will solve that.

Also, I don't live in the US, and the wait is even longer here. Even galaxy note is out now.

Technically the only "hype" for this phone has been enthusiast generated. If we were the general public, we wouldn't know this phone exsists for as long as it has.

depends

Where i'm at, there are quite a lot of techy people. Not in the way that most people buy monster PCs and mod the crap out of them, but in the way that good internet and "nice phones" are "the things to have."

I think 56K dial-up services are probably extinct here, almost all households have a computer and a broadband internet plan, and smartphones sell very well. They sell so well young people that barely make a living have the latest iphones. They do that by joining the more expensive 2-year data plans with $0 entry fees (yes, all phones are $0).

Over here, techy in PC is nerdy, but techy in cell phones is trendy.
***actually its just iphone, most people dont really know crap about anything else lol, I've had relatives ask me why don't I get an iphone. I listed a few things I don't like about it and they just went "oh really? A lot of people I know use it and they said its really good, very convenient" and moved onto the next topic. Apparently they knew nothing I said and weren't interested to know more.
/rant

But I suppose all of you guys have met people/friends like that, as the superior marketing of Apple can attract the girls and the older generations. Other smartphones have less demands from the market but the top tier models are also popular.

Right now I'm in a group that consist of me and other 4 girls at the job(was 5 just yesterday, you could probably figure out what happened to that 5th at this time of year rolleyes.gif). I'm the most techy person in the group but I'm also one of the 2 ppl that don't have a smartphone (the other 3 all have iphone 4). How sad is that

I WANT IT NAAAAAAO !!

The samsung nexus line is the only android phones without sd cards. The fastest micro sd cards can do about 10mb a second, this storage can do over 100mb. I'm not too worried as long as it has 32gb.
