Windtunnel Inspired Case

Hey guys,
This is many firsts; first case build, first computer build, first oc. So we'll see how it goes.

The idea came from searching for cases for my new build and noticed the expensive cases was just a competition as to who can get more and larger fans in their cases.
Also, remarks and reviews from newegg and here talking about gpus or other components running hot, they wish they had a windtunnel to place said component in.
So then I started thinking...

I got two 20in box fans , which could be gotten for $15 at lowes. I got a myopenpc open air casefor $44. I got acrylic material and cut it into sections to form a windtunnel shape

The fans are set up in a push pull config and removed the grills on the inside for increased airflow.

case performance :
CPU:
idle: 29 C
load: 44 C stock
haven't gotten max load temp with oc yet.

Video cards show the most dramatic difference.
Fans off: top video card is 83 c load
bottom card is 73 c load

Fans on : top card is 63 c load
bottom card is 64 c load

keeps cards around 35-37 c idle.

lowers temps by 10c with top card now being on avg 1 c cooler than bottom.

Build log work in progress.
Will edit in more info on construction and case temps as I set them up.

Don't you get a lot of dust in the case... maybe an A/C filter would keep it cleaner - while reducing air flow.

Believe me I've tried to put a filter in the intake , but it simply reduces flow too much. I 've tried all sorts of a\\c air filters, pricy and cheap ones with light mesh , but no luck.
However, I've had no dust build up problems so far..., but I know how that can change if you give it time.

Have you check arts and craft stores for material? Think, a large sheet of panty hose material. Thin, can screen well, but should allow plenty of air flow.

Stretch some leg stockings.

Something is better than nothing in this case.

lol,you guys are right, don't know why I hadn't just thought of materials to use. I just thought I needed a filter so I got stuck finding filters.
