If you mean to crossfire to gain performance boost, sure why not. Physics processing for 48xx to 6xxx series are all the same excepts newer cards are more powerful.

Well no, i mean to use that card AND my two 4890's...ill already be using the 4890's, the 4860 is optional. Kinda of a bragging rights thing i guess, since id probably never use it. It is the DDR5/1GB version, so it matches the 4890's.

Oh no, it will be a waste and doing nothing in the system, unless you need the extra output ports for additional monitors desktop working space.

If you really like PhysX, get Nvidia GTS450 or 460 will match up fine with your crossfire setup.

ATI doesn't process any physics. They were working with Havoc awhile back to take Havoc physics to ATI cards but it never went through, they didn't have the money to buy Aegia, so Nvidia bought Aegia which is now their "Physx"..Havoc physics are rendered on CPU's still, which is why Havoc physics aren't too advanced.
