Is a 750w PSU enough?

I am returning my HX850 due to an annoying high pitched whining sound, so will this PSU be enough for my rig and sli EVGA GTX 570 SC. I plan on adding another HDD, an SSD, and a sound card. Or should I get another HX850 and risk having the same issue?

an hx750 will be perfect. it runs my system flawlessly with plenty of power to spare. you'll be fine. I love mine.

**edit** an ax750 will be even better. that bad boy is gold certified, you are double good my friend. that's a sweet psu. nice choice.

Yeah it should be fine. That's an excellent PSU.

that's more than enough my old tx 850 can handle an overclocked 1090T and gtx 480SLI and both of them are terrible in power efficiency. a 2600k and 570SLi are both very power efficient you don't even have to worry about overclocking headroom

Okay, going to order in a bit. Lets say worst case scenario, if that PSU isn't enough, could it damage my entire system?

You'll be fine, 2x570 would consume 510W of power leaving 240W for the other components which should be sufficient.

If the power is insufficient, it'll just turn off. No harm done to any components.

there is no way it's not enough. and worst case scenario your pc powers down and is fine. but trust me, you've got enough power to oc those 570's to the moon. your cpu will only draw around 110w max and that's with a heavy oc. your gpu's and cpu are really the only significant components drawing any kind of power. everything else ie: fans, hdd, ssd all draw negligible wattage.

nope. when a PSU can't handle the load it will just shut off harmlessly

Why would you downgrade?

Okay, thanks everyone. I have 1 more question though. Do you guys think the cables on the AX750 are long enough for my case. I read that they were short, so I don't know if they are the same length as my HX850 or not. My case is this, so the mother board is rotated 90 degrees. The PSU will be mounted on the back sucking the air in from outside.
