I bought these a couple years ago. good range and pretty awesome sub for the price. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart for $75(used to work there so I had a discount). I have still seen walmart stores carrying them.

How do they sound? I'm trying to determine wheter to just buy one of those set ups, go 2.1, or just save up and buy each piece of the speakers 1 by one.

if you can catch the logitech z506s sales for under $60 they sometimes have on amazon I think it's a fair deal.
Sure, a lot of people are going to say it's complete garbage (and the back 2 speakers are pretty much), but in my opinion even then they make a fair 2.1+ setup for the cost.

And the bass is enough to get the neighbors complaining if you want

Imo the logis do not sound good. I have the z506 on another PC, and its nothing too amazing.

Either buy each piece 1 by 1 (What i am doing) or save up and buy it all as once.

i like them. sound is good up to about 75% volume without distorting. Espically for the price i really do like them. Also, if you find a set at a store. take them home. listen to them. like'em...then keep'em. if you dont..then take them back. simple as that.

Don't go for those, I upgraded to Klipsch Promedia 2.1 from an X-540, big upgrade in sound quality. Just save up a little more and go for the promedias or Swans m10 if you don't need a lot of bass.

They are decent. Sound quality isn't that good. But its not that bad. And It is 5.1. If you want good sound quality, you need more money.
