Believe CPU-Z or BIOS?

Thread Starter
I'm one of the many people who have 1600Mhz RAM that just wants to run as 1300, even with XMP profile 1 on it seems. My BIOs is reporting 1600 however CPU-Z isn't. It's reporting 13000. Any ideas? I've attached a screenie that may be of help.

I honestly trust CPU-Z more than your BIOS on windows but go straight into BIOS not the program. Your ACTUAL bios and see if it is ACTUALLY set?

That's what it says on my actual BIOs too, that XMP Profile 1 is set up and that it should be running at ~1600.

I really want this running at 1600 and people have had problems with Vengence being detected as 1300 and not 1600. The BIOs should be right, but… I don't know.

I am not sure if this would help, but try upgrading to the latest BIOS.

Also, if you are using 4GB x 4 RAM try populating just the 1st and 2nd
channel I'm curious if it sees 1600.

Listen, I have checked the actual BIOS. I used their software just to show you at the same time, obviously I would actually troubleshoot before coming here. The actual BIOs says 1600.

CPU-Z says 1300.

Also, I have the most recent BIOS.

Have you tried 2 sticks of RAM then check CPU-z again?

I'll snap a photo with my phone after I'm out of the office.
I'm not doing anything too outrageous. All the memory voltages and timings are set correctly. There's a nice overview screen though that shows everything all at once and I'll grab a picture of that.

For example, it's clocked to turbo up to 4.4 if needed and that works fine. CPU-Z agrees with the BIOS settings in that regard.

I'm go ahead a try two sticks as well but I fail to see where you're going with this.

The Gigabyte app is simply reading the XMP profile of your RAM. But your RAM is operating at 1333MHz--which is what CPU-Z is reading. Enable your XMP profile to run it at 1600MHz like it's supposed to.
