Advice requested for installing Faster Memory.

Thread Starter
Recently purchased 4gb (2x2gb) of Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24.

Currently I have 4gb (2x2gb) of Corsair Dominator 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24 installed in my system:

Case: HAF 932
MB: MSI 890FXA GD70
CPU: 1090t @ 3.2 (not OCed)
Cooler: Cooler Master V8
GPU: XFX 6950 800m 2gb (not OCed)
PSU: Ultra LSP 750w
HD: Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm
OS: Win 7 Ult.

Natively the main board supports RAM speeds up to 1333Mhz with 1600, 1800, and 2133 available with overclocking.

My question is: What is the best/safest way to overclock the board to 1600 to use my new RAM? I hope that I worded that properly.

What other suggestions do any of you have for getting the most out of what I have?

Thanks for the assistance!

Set the voltage of your RAM in your BIOS to the recommended voltage of your sticks of RAM (on Corsair's website), then set the frequency and timings to what you listed.

Then test your RAM for stability using Memtest or something similar. If it isn't stable, raise the voltage and repeat until either your RAM is completely stable or you reach the max voltage your sticks and motherboard can handle.

If that happens we can go from there

just punch in the speed to 1600 and everything else to auto (or manually punch in the timeings) and set your ram v to what ever its said to be, easy as that

Anything useful I can do with my 1333Mhz sticks in this system?

Got it running yesterday. Memtest86, six passes, no errors.

Thanks for the help guys.

One more thing; Corsairs tested voltage is 1.65v on this RAM. Mine is currently running stable since yesterday with the DRAM voltage set in [auto] mode, which gave it 1.50v. What does this mean?
