I can get the Asus M4E P67 Rev 3 for a little less than the Extreme7 GEN3, almost the same price as the WS Revo.

I think M4E is the one for me!!!! £225 BNIB wheee.gif

EDIT:

DONE!!!! Ordered the M4E for only £225, selling my P8P67 PRO for around £100/110 once I get the RMA replacment, so effectively on paying £110 or so for the M4E. This day is soooo much win for me!!!!!!! biggrin.gif
Now if only I could get my hands on a couple 580s for a similar price sneaky.gif
Damn good motherboard you're getting, congrats!
They are expensive in the UK though. 225 works out to about $360 in my currency, so that's still a wee bit more than what I would have to pay at my retailer:
www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=59315&vpn=MAXIMUS IV EXTREME REV 3.0&manufacture=ASUS
They are a bit less at "the egg" in the US:
www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131700

Anyway, enough pricing comparisons. If I had the dough, that's the board I'd be getting, but for now I'll have to settle for my budget MSI board.
Enjoy that new board, a little review would be nice:)

Sure is expensive in the UK, cheapest was around £270 and I got it for much less, UK and US prices are completely different lol. $310 for me would be a bargain because it would be something like £196 which is dead cheap considering they cost around £270 which in US dollars would be $420

So my £225 is not bad at all lol

Once I get it I'll probably just stick to gaming because I miss it lol. BF3 is round the corner and I'm sooooo lucky that I found this lol I should be up and running by mid next week

It's a good deal, and as you mentioned, when you sell your rma Pro board the cost is very low. I wonder if Asus will give you a new or refurb board?
Main thing is that it will be functional.
You must be going through withdrawal symptoms by now

lol it should be a like for like replacement from Asus. Shipping and everything won't be worth it, it would be better just to buy it over there.

I've been using temporary motherboards for the last couple weeks lol, the p67 WS revo, Extreme4 gen3 and a different Asus P8P67 PRO, but for now rig is out of use, no motherboards to put in and it aint worth it now, might aswell wait for my new mopbo and case to arrive lol

You're right, it would be cheaper for me to get a Pro here. But I don't want a Pro, I want an M4E
There are some good deals just after Xmas here at some of the shops, so I'll be on the lookout!
I've noticed you had a variety of boards, at least it was a good opportunity to try them out.
I certainly didn't have an easy time picking out which board to use for my Sandy build, budget kept the choices to a minimum, but still, so many to choose from.
I do tend to "experiment" with different boards, my previous i5 750 chip saw three different boards, an Asus Pro, and two different EVGA P55 boards.
I've had two MSI boards for my 2500K, so to keep it consistent I should get a third one, but it will have to be another brand, like Asus

Perhaps off-topic, but it's your thread, so may I ask which case did you choose?
EDIT:
Never mind, I just noticed Xigmatec Elysium ordered in your sig.

I've used quite a few so making a decision was a littel difficult because all of them were great (WS revo, Asrock and other Asus mobo's), however I'm just luck that I found such a great deal for the M4E, shoudl be arriving tomorrow I think.

Elysium the Beast lol
I guess it would be difficult to have to choose between several good boards, especially when you were using them hands-on. But getting a good deal can certainly make up one's mind in a hurry

Cases are another fetish I had, but I've managed to stay content with my current HAF for a while now, and I think the fact that I went to a full-size case after having many mid-towers is why. Which brings up your incoming beast! I looked up a review on the Elysium, it is quite impressive.
It even takes HPTX and XL-ATX boards, which very few cases do. Good clean styling, no silly transformers nonsense there.
There will be lots of room for your watercooling gear as well.

Since it's kind of an exclusive case, it would make for another good thread in the Computer Cases section. But with your current workload, that might be pushing it!

One more off-topic thought, I am still working on my 12hr. P95 run, and hope to have one posted soon, after many 6hr. failures from being too stingy with the vcore

I will be an MIVE owner soon as well. Congrats on the good decision. It seems like it is the winner hands down.

Indeed hopefully the M4E works well with my rig lol I've used it on other builds but it'll be sweeter to own it personally lol

Probably tomorrow I'll strip my current rig and just leave it ready for the beast lol. Again I have worked with the Elysium before with a 1366 4Way sli rig and I fell in love with it, a great deal of room and love the 'hotswap' hdd feature, will definitely be using that for my benching a lot.

I was thinking about creating another thread but I might just take a few pictures or whatever lol have too many threads that I'm kinda busy with

LOL, read up on some of the things I posted up in the Stable thread and also my other thread (BSOD 124 on Sandy - link in my sig), it may help you figure it out. I've tried my best to add as much info as possible without cluttering the OP, however don't think I've done a good job on that though lol, however, it should have everything you need that'll help you along your way.

Just a tip, remember, too many bsods = corrupt OS and that certainly does not help when you're doing stability testing.

Always good advise, that's why I've taken my time, to verify which settings and voltages are working best, leaving the final vcore adjustments for last.

As I've heard it elegantly said before, too many bsod's can bork your os
You recommend doing stability testing on a separate os installation, not on your main os, which is a good idea that I hadn't considered before.

But it's best for me to discuss these things at the Sandy Stable thread, not in this thread of primo motherboards and massive cases
