EK - 8 days and possible corrosion

post #1 of 77

Only 8 days old!.. I only used distilled water & silver killcoil.

I posted pics when i completed my build on 11/10
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...waterloop.html

Today 19/10 i looked at it;

CPU & Mosfet has crap inside it!. I can't see in the GPU as the V2 has a cover over it... and i don't even want to know whats inside if the CPU and Mosfet already started

I don't know if its corroded that everyone is experiencing - I have all the EK EN version blocks.

or its algae growing - unlucky as I cleaned the parts for 1hr running hot water through it, and then distilled water flushed through it.. and i cant imagine doing it again as it took me ages.

Why, why , WHY did you buy EK? Everyone knows that you can't trust Eddie. Just wait, he'll blame this on you. He'll tell you that you caused the issue by using a kill coil. Then he'll say distilled water was the problem, then he'll blame it on climate change and gorillas freezing to death in the rain forest.

You're running straight water? You need something to cancel-out the waters corrosive properties. Kill-coils are just for algae and bacteria.

The least of your worries, it could be from the kill coil. I know that sounds odd, but it COULD be. Pull your kill coil and see if it has any dark residue on it. If not, then I'd think it's safe to say it's your blocks.

Do you know why the statue of liberty is green? Google it then rethink that statement.

looked in my res, killcoil is shiny silver!

but to be honest, the pictures make it look worse than it actually is.. its not that 'dark'.. but you can see a discoloration when you look closely.

but seriously... 8 days?
