Which smartphone is currently the best for gaming?

Thread Starter
The 2-year contract for my iPhone 3GS is coming to an end and I must sadly abandon my...no, wait, very HAPPILY REPLACE it. I just would like some honestly-constructed analytic wisdom on which smartphone on the current market is technically the best for gaming. iPhone 4S, a good phone? or is there something else?

What kind of games are you going to be running? What size screen/type of phone (full touch or touch/keyboard)?

I am not too sure about the games on the iPhone. I have a WP7, if your a big 360 player or use GFWL and have a Live account, it is nice because you can gain achievements, message your friends, check their achievement lists etc. If not then I would assume the Experia play for its PSP like controls. I haven't seen any of the games for the Play (Haven't seen anyone use it in person). Besides that, games like Angry Birds and whatnot are on WP7 and iPhone, I would assume they are on the Play as well. Besides the resolution of the iPhone's screen being bigger than the WP7, there is no difference in games, besides maybe what phone they are on.

It's the iPhone 4S. Consider there are many quality games already in the app store with many developers making new games, couple this with the fact the 4S has the best GPU in a Smartphone currently and it's the best phone for gaming.

Samsung Galaxy SII has done me proud after the iPhone 4.
Bigger screen makes for a better gaming experience in my opinion.
Plus given the fact Android is open source for me it's a no brainer!

A phone that can take the most graphically-demanding game and make it an unforgettably positive experience. So far it seems that iPhone 4S is a promising new phone, but i'm also open to other options.

Also which phone has a better battery life? (rhetorical question, don't need to answer)

Also small screen (low res too compared to the Galaxy Nexus), and slower growing app market.

I work in the mobile games development industry, and I own a Galaxy SII, and I'm sorry, but for games, iPhone is the way to go. Anyone who says otherwise is being completely ridiculous.
