I cannot see how Any person completly used to an Iphone could possibly move to a different platform, other than upgrading the same thing.
Every smart phone from every different maker and OS did nothing but tick me off to no end, because each one was missing huge features, or had some really stupid crud, or belotion or lockdowns, Getting used to one then getting the better version of it ok. but changing to a different one is like being tossed into a psyco ward with no way out :-)
I cannot percieve that the OP would be happy initially with a change in Wards :-)

I've 'converted' a few people at work from iPhone to the SII and the majority of people are happy with the change. From not having to use iTunes to being able to carry a spare battery to using cables that are already kicking about i.e the mini usb there hasn't been any negatives said really.

Hopefully Android 4.0 will get developers working on both Android and iOS and the app gap will become a thing of the past. Your choice of phone will just be down to personal preference then rather than app availability.

But think about it, what if your favorite $2 Fart app, or Beer app just didnt work the same? What do you do if all your quicktime movies you converted to a propriatary format dont play anymore? How will you understand how to move your own ripped Mp3s over to the phone in one step, and know where you put them without Itunes directing it all for you? What value would free music be , you get what you pay for you know?
What if you really loved stick animations , and the full 3D apps just dont cut it for you? Or worse what if you realise that all the accessories for everything else you already own just easily fit on the phone you bought, how will you sort that out? Where do you store this Extra battery, did you think about what that means biggrin.gif

If I wanted the best experience playing a game on my phone I would get the Xperia Play.

The reason why I wouldn't want a G2X or Galaxy S2 or Sensation is because they all have a touch screen. Android is incorporating a lot of FPS games into the android market lately with good graphics, but playing them on a touch screen is a bother. Having the controls on the Xperia are nice

iPhone 4S it is. Infinity Sword 2 looks very beautiful and runs smoothly on the 4S. I also like the retina display as it is much clearer (therefore, clearer graphics) than bigger screens; if I want bigger screen then i'll play games on my 1920x1080 LED monitor. Also, iPhone is the #1 portable gaming device so it must be more popular with games developers, meaning, obviously, more games. Its new dual core and advanced dual core graphics chip will bring more developers and encourage well-known developers (such as EA) to release graphic-intense games. I haven't quite fully used Apple's Game Center app, yet, but it looks promising and like a good investment. Only thing that is bothering me about 4S is its relatively small RAM compared to other smartphones.

While Xperia Play may be exciting to especially Playstation players, there's nothing particularly new--it's basically playing old PS games on a smaller screen. I'm mainly looking for innovative and new games, not old ones. I can simply get an emulator and download ROMs for the game I want to play.

Samsung Galaxy S2. I can't say I don't like it because it is an excellent smartphone with many cool features and outstanding user-interface. However, I'm not inclined to buy this since my whole family uses the iPhone, and, if I get iPhone 4S, then I can get the next iPhone by lending my 4S to a family member and switch contracts for the next iPhone. Sorry Galaxy, but maybe in 3 years I'll reconsider!

Xperia Play also allows you to play games from Android Market, what are you talking about? This allows you to play all those new games you're talking about. Most of which are not very playable with just a touch screen. Having hard controls, such as those found on the Xperia allow you to play them the way they were meant to be played.

While you may be an enormous Apple fan, the fact is that there is no better phone to play games on than the Xperia. It was DESIGNED for gaming.
