Which smartphone is currently the best for gaming? - Page 4

I'd say iPhone 4S just because of Apple's mobile gaming support, and doesn't seem like Android will be reaching their level soon.

the thread starter asked for a phone that is best in gaming and not which one has the best camera...so all other specs are probably not considered

I should've been clearer: I didn't want a gaming phone, but a smartphone that can handle gaming better than other phones with higher capabilities in other features as well. If you're not gonna reply with a helpful comment then keep it to yourself.

You can hardly flame people for giving input. You asked a question and they replied. Then you broaden your points and then tell people not to reply. Typical apple fanboy
post #37 of 73
Seriously. Why even made a thread asking for input when you will ignore it as if you already knew what phone you were going to get. It's almost as if you made this thread to vindicate your opinion, well done.

Switch to Verizon and get the Bionic -- currently has the best specs out there. Though I do have to say I am happy with my Thunderbolt oc'd to 1.8GHz ^-^

Xperia Play is awful. You'd be much better off getting a PS3 controller and a PS1 emulator.

My suggestion is to take a look at the games available and choose the platform with the games you like.

If you're looking long term then definitely go with Android. I've watched the both the number and quality of games go up exponentially over the last year. When I got my Desire we didn't even have Angry Birds. Now we have Minecraft. MINECRAFT. Its at the point now where you can't really say that iOS has any advantage at all, since you'd have to do an indepth study just to find out the differences.

Yep, I agree. Although I never see the logic in tethering a controller to a cell phone...just seems like it defeats the purpose if you have to carry a controller around with you to play games. And it also looks silly.

N64oid is available in the SlideMe market and it can play all the N64 roms. It has pretty good onscreen controls (takes some getting used to) and plays games at a reasonable framerate on my Bionic (OOT plays at about 25 fps I'd say, which is extremely playable). I'd love to see it play on the SGSII, with it's Mali GPU, the experience would only get better.

While N64oid is like $4 or $5, he supports a ton of other emulators. I'm sure once the next-gen SoC's come out with 2.5GHz dual cores and quad-core processors, we'll see a Gamecube emulator from him.
