Which smartphone is currently the best for gaming? - Page 6

iPhone has better high quality games, without a doubt. I feel like this may change though if Tegra 3 takes off, and developers start building Tegra exclusive games.

Android not-rooted already does more than the iPhone jailbroken.

Eh, yeah. Stuff is improving so fast, I can't wait until we're getting 1GHz quad-core phones... that'll be cool.

Eh, that's too much. Phones don't need quad core, just need to focus on screen quality, resolution, form factor, build quality, CPU, GPU, Ram and battery.

I agree they do need to focus on those things, but I don't really think a quad-core is too much. There's some benefit to it, for example, better multi-tasking and the potential for more powerful apps and games.

If given the choice, I'd go for a dual-core with more battery life than a quad-core, but I still think it's cool and will have some uses.

Yeah but stuff currently isn't even being maxed out for gaming, unless the game developers actually asked for quad core to start making games.

That's true, but I'm really hoping that they'll start making full use of the GPUs. Infinity Blade 2, e.g, will definitely make use of the SGX543MP2 in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. I was very disappointed the iPod touch didn't get the new hardware which would encourage developers even more to make games that make use of the MP2.

Yeah honestly, I wish developers would do more android games. With so many people having androids, they can definitely make good money from just $1 per game, just look at Angry Birds.
