Need a PCI-E sound card for $100

I just got this motherboard from a computer someone threw away and it works perfectly but the on board audio is absolutely horrid, Back ground static, Buzzing, Tinnie you name it it's got it.

Even my old board with Realtek HD on board wasn't anywhere near as bad as this.

Now since it has a PCI-E port that isn't underneath my graphics card like my last board I thought why not buy a sound card to sooth my sorrow.

I don't want a PCI sound card as most newer boards I've seen don't seem to have them and I like the look of PCI-E cards anyway.

So budget is $100. I would prefer to be able to use paypal as that's easiest for me but if I have to I will find the time to go to a store.

Just so people know I am in Australia so don't post things from newegg since they don't ship internationally.

Sites that I can get them from are:
mwave.com.au
ebay.com.au
umart.com.au
msy.com.au

For anyone who asks what I use my sound for it's mainly for listening to music but I do game occasionally but not that often.

Help finding a good quality card would be appreciated as I know nothing about sound cards.

Even just telling me what cards are good/great would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Oh and just so people know I tend to use headphones more then my sound system.

Asus Xonar DX would be your best bang for the buck PCI-E card. I had one. It was a very good sound card for the price.

edit: just looked at some of the sites you posted and it looks super over-priced compared to what we can find it at in the states. I know you said you don't want a PCI card but the Xonar DG is a good option if you cant find a DX or other PCIe at a price your comfortable paying.

I know I can get a DX for just under $120 which is ok I guess since it's not much more so I'll see what creative has to offer and go for ether the DX or a Creative alternative.

Edit: DX is $95 at MSY... I really should look at sites before saying prices.

Just a heads up, PC Case gear are great.
Their prices are usually just a few bucks more, and they are much better for warranty and returns. It's worth the little extra.

Plus, they deliver! - Pun intended.

www.computeralliance.com.au is also in brissy and worth checking out if needed. Prices aren't the cheapest($129 DX?? 0.o) around and I only go there if I'm desperate. It's southside btw.

Heh I have heard some good things about them but never bothered with them since there's a MSY store 10 minutes drive from me and they where ether the same price or cheaper.

There's allot of stuff I want from pc case gear that I can't get from other stores so one day I may buy from them.

Edit:

Yea computer alliance really makes things over priced, there's a store about 20 minutes away from me but I've only been there once and when I saw the prices on some of the stuff I never went there again haha.

+1 for PCCG, theyre the first place i go for parts, nevermind the prices, theyre service is excellent.

only complaint i have (and its hardly a complaint) is no AUSpost options, not even for smaller items, so you need to pay courier for everything, which is a bit mroe expensive.

anyways on the soundcard, Mwave have the xonar DX for $102, i think this is your best bet, unfortionately tho its currently out of stock on there website but id hope would be back in soon
