Interesting. the windows 8 partition, is it on the same HDD?

and sorry for the n00b questions, did you make an unallocated space in win7 before installing 8? Or did you just go ahead and make a seperate ntfs partition in win7 then install win8?

its on the same hdd... i did do shrink volume and an unallocated space came up, so i made a new simple volume... so alltogether i have partitioned my 500gb hdd 3 times... i partition is 250 gigs (windows 7) and the the two are 200 gigs and 50 giga (windows 8)... should i try installing the other version of windows 8 which is without the developer tools, i've got it downloaded already...]
EDIT;
all the partitions are on my wd caviar blue hdd

Yeah, give that a try, I assume its the 64 bit version. I think windows 8 might have repair tools like windows 7 from the "cd" or iso. Seeing as you just installed it, try erasing the partition for windows 8 and leaving it as unallocated space, then install it again.

im kinda noob in this, how do i get the space unallocated again (and do i just go into my computer and format the drive)???
and yeah, both of then are 64 bit but one's with the developer tools and one's not, im gonna give a shot at the one without the tools,

from the disk management ( you can type that in the start menu search) and just right click and delete the partition. but don't format it. It should return as unallocated space.

dont know where you got that information from. My netbook has windows 7 and windows 8 dual booted. and it uses the windows 8 boot manager just fine.
