(Fixed)- Please speak to me gpu! Don't be dead! Please!

i think i may have killed my gpu.

the other day, i upgraded my drivers to the newest ones and overclocked it to the max settings without a single artifact, glitch or freeze-up. it worked fine all day monday as well as yesterday until i used sisoft sandra to benchmark.

the original benchmark went fine, but when i went to the section where it assesses your system and gives you suggestions on optimizing it, the comp froze up at 5%. i let the comp rest for about 4 hours after that, but when i turned it back it, and went to sign in, i noticed i was getting a black screen where i should have been getting a login screen.

no matter what i did i kept getting that same black login, so i decided to use one of the extra drives to reinstall windows. got it installed and turned it on and everything was fine except my resolution was 800x640.

so, i went to change it only to find out, it was locked at that low res. this got me curious, so i went into device manager and low and behold, instead of seeing my 5670, it lists "standard vga adapter" as my display adapter. also, it says there is an unknown device plugged in but that it can't identify it.

i'm wondering if i killed my gpu or just need to reset the drivers somehow.

when it locks the res like that it's because it hasnt got any drivers.

just reset any overclock you got on the card and start again.

The fact you have video means it isn't dead..........

this is wrong, if there is no video driver the processor will produce graphics. But a processor isnt good at producing graphics so you can only use low resolutions.
Try reinstalling your drivers, use drive sweeper stuff first so they are absolutely completely removed. Then reinstall the drivers, restart pc and cross your fingers your card isnt dead.
