Help for a new computer

Hello guys. Dont know if this is the right place to post this but here goes:

I need a new motherboard, cpu and perhaps a psu also? My current psu is a zalman ultra silent 750w and its 4 years old. I was thinking of a intel 2500 cpu? I would like to dó some oc however.

i5 2500K - One of the best cpus around for overclocking and performance in games.

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO / ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 / GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 - all these motherboards will overclock without any fuss.

^^ Exactly what he said my MB will overclock my 2500k to 4.3 just by clicking the power setting. If your into it and got a decent cooler you could easily hit 5ghz.

not bad of a setup. look up the 6990 graphics card as the 6990 and 590 are about even in performance 6990 may be cheaper too.

Your existing PSU should be fine. I have an OCZ 600W modular PSU powering an i5-2500K on a Gigabyte GA-z68ma-d2h-b3 mATX board, a GTX 470, an SSD, and an HDD.

I know that MSI produces some motherboards with automatic OC switches (had one for my 870-G45 on my PII X4 955 BE build).

To echo thoughts on CPU, yes I would definitely recommend the 2500K as well.

Are you just looking for the best general cards for gaming? May want to provide a budget. Also if you plan on only gaming at 1920x1200 you do NOT need a 6990/590. A single GTX 580 would be sufficient. Take a peak at the thread link in my sig
