There's a lot of games out there that try way too hard to be frightening. Monster closets, weird shadows, ambient music, etc. Unsurprisingly, most fall flat on their face.
The cause for these failures is simple, the creators are not deranged enough. They're trying to emulate the mind of a deranged human being without actually being separated from reality. It's like trying to run an NES on a Xbox 360, it'll work half the time and not very well. However, we now have a game developed by a man who is quite literally whacked out of his mind.
That's where this nightmare comes into view.
KEYBOARD DRUMSET WEREWOLF.
It's an incredibly unique game which manages to be soul crushingly weird as well as entertaining. In truth, I've never played anything quite like it. The art style and the way the game progresses is unlike anything out there. Not to give away too much, but you'll never be doing the same activity twice. One second you might be roaming through a valley in a side scrolling shooter, and the next you'll be ripping out organs (FPS-style) from people and eating them. The gameplay shifts quickly and abruptly, giving you few seconds to grasp what's happening. It's that schizophrenic feel that makes it so much fun.
My favorite part was when you use the dead bones of your enemies to construct a FREAKING MISSILE LAUNCHER.
So for the sake of Halloween, indulge in this bizarre and twisted game.
Good luck sleeping tonight.
