Thread Starter
Thinking about getting a WD velociraptor 10000 rpm hdd whichis around $180ish would it be better to get say a 64gig ssd with a standard WD 500 gig 7200rpm drive for the same price? any thoughts appreciated.

Definitely go for the 64GB SSD + standard WD 500GB for the same price. The speed increase from a velociraptor to an SSD is a few orders of magnitude.

SSD and a WD Black. The velociraptor isn't all that good over the black.
